The Determination of Lead in Sugar Products by a Colorimetric Method - Accepted

 

 

1 Scope and Field of Application [1]

The method is based upon a colorimetric procedure and is suitable for white and raw sugar, as well as low-grade products with lead contents not exceeding 0.5mg Pb/kg. A dry ashing step for raw sugar and wet ashing for low-grade products is first required to eliminate organic matter. However, this pre-treatment is not necessary for white sugar.
