Abstract:
Traces of Copper in Plantation White Sugar can be measured using Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry. This method is applicable to plantation white sugar containing copper in a mass-fraction of 0.2 mg/kg or more as contaminant. Repeatability and reproducibility values have not yet been formally established but indicative values from validation exercises already carried out indicate that the absolute difference between two results obtained under repeatability conditions should be not greater than 20% of the mean value.
