Abstract:
Water-soluble Iron in Plantation White Sugar can be measured colorimetrically after complexation. This method is applicable to plantation white sugar containing water-soluble iron in the mass-fraction range of 0.2 mg/kg to 6 mg/kg. Repeatability and reproducibility values have not yet been formally established but indicative values from validation exercises already carried out indicate that the absolute difference between two results obtained under repeatability conditions should be not greater than 10% of the mean value and the absolute difference between two results obtained under reproducibility conditions should be not greater than 20% of the average value.
