Abstract:
This method applies to the determination of total (i.e. acid-soluble) inorganic phosphate and soluble (i.e. water-soluble) inorganic phosphate. The concentration of phosphate in the juice, before and after clarification, provides an indication of clarifier performance. This method is applicable to cane juice before and after clarification. The absolute difference between two results obtained under repeatability conditions should be not greater than 3 mg/L. The absolute difference between two results obtained under reproducibility conditions should be not greater than 6 mg/L.
