Abstract:
Formerly: alpha-Amino-Nitrogen in Sugar Beet by the Copper Method ("Blue Number") after Clarification using Aluminium Sulphate - Official. This Method is applicable to freshly produced and/or frozen sugar beet brei for the determination of ?-amino nitrogen content. Absorbance is used to measure the ?-amino nitrogen content of a brei sample solution after clarification with aluminium sulphate. Beet brei samples may be produced from harvested beet or comminuted cossettes. For sugar beet of average ?-amino nitrogen content of 15.83 mmol/kg the maximum repeatability limit is 1.33 mmol/kg and under reproducibility conditions the maximum limit is 3.32 mmol/kg.
