Abstract:
Formerly Total Mesophilic Aerobic Count in White Sugar - Accepted. This Method is applicable to white sugar only but may be appropriate for other products (if validation of use is performed) for the determination of total mesophilic aerobic microorganisms. Enumeration of the organisms is performed after using either a pour plate or membrane filtration procedure and incubation at 30 °C for 48 h. Membrane filtration is used for samples containing a low-level of microorganisms and pour plating is used for samples containing higher numbers of microorganisms (>103 CFU).
