Abstract:
This Specification and Standard describes the sampling of sugar cane after it has passed through the mitt shredder. Data reported in the Proceedings of the 20th Session of ICUMSA show the full width hatch method of cane sampling to have the best precision of all available methods of cane sampling. Repeatability of polarimetric sucrose content of Cane has been found to be 0.93 °Z and 1.22 °Z in two series of experiments. Repeatability of Fibre content of Cane has been found to be 1.69 g/100 g and 2.94 g/100 g in two series of experiments.
