Method Technique:

This method is used to obtain an empirical measure of the degree of preparation of cane. The method can be applied to a sample of prepared cane after the knives or shredder. The method is not suitable for samples which contain large pieces of unprepared cane and is therefore restricted to shredded cane or well-knifed cane. The precision of the method has not been determined.
