Message from the President

Now that the Proceedings of the Atlanta meeting have been published, the Publication Committee (and in particular John Dutton) is working hard to prepare the 2005 Supplement of the ICUMSA Methods Book. You can order the Supplement in advance through the webpage www.bartens.com at the price of € 50,00. The Supplement contains 3 New Methods, 9 Revised Methods, 1 Revised Specification, 5 Rewritten Methods and 6 Draft Methods.

Recently, the Referees of some Subjects have been changed - in particular:

- for the General Subject GS6 – Beet Sugar Processing - M. Kunz (Germany) has been replaced by D. Martin (Germany)
- for the Subject S5 – Dry Substance - R.B. Nigam (India) has been replaced by S.K Gupta (India)
- for the Subject S6 – Indirect Methods of Analysis – Mrs. J. Leblebici (Turkey) has been replaced by L.A. Edye (Australia).

Although these changes are reflected on our website www.unife.it/icumsa , the following table is a list of Referees and the relevant e-mail addresses in hard copy. I hope that you find it useful.

I would like to invite all Referees and Associate Referees to contact each other. As I pointed out in the last ICUMSA News, Reports of all Referees must be ready well in advance of the next meeting which will be held in Sao Pedro (Brazil), on September 21-22 (Thursday and Friday) 2006, just at the end of the SPRI Meeting.

It would also be useful if Referees would let me know personally when their Associate Referees have ceased to participate in the work. I will amend the master list accordingly.

Finally I must remind all Chairmen of the National Committees to send to me, every now and then, an updated list of their Associate Referees and nominations for new Associate Referees.
